CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS

"Rory", aka AKC CH Sheeba A. Borealis, came into our home and our hearts in the fall of 1999. She is the royal princess at Huntcrest. "Rory" is not only spoiled by us; but by our Labradors, too. She merely has to look at one of their bones, and they immediately hand it over to her.

We were lucky enough to purchase "Rory" from Karin Ostmann of Sheeba Cavaliers. We will be eternally grateful to Karin for this bundle of joy. She has been everything we could have asked for and more.

"Rory" finished her AKC championship very quickly, and is also pointed in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, USA. Her hips are OFA Good, her patellas OFA clear, her eyes ACVO cleared yearly, and her heart has been cleared, by a board certified cardiologist, as of 6/09 at age 10. "Rory" is our foundation bitch and we have been blessed to have four of her daughters, two of them champions and a champion son in our breeding program. We are now enjoying her grand and great grand children. Wow, does time ever fly! .

Cavaliers are a fabulous breed of dog. They are consummate cuddlers. They not only sleep on the bed, but in winter will crawl under the covers and put their head on your pillow! They are lively, smart companions and a joy to live with. We could own a dozen, but then we would have to get a bigger bed!!

To learn more about this breed, we strongly suggest contacting the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, USA. This club has a very strong Breeder Code of Ethics, and tries very hard to both protect and promote this breed in the USA. They also hold quite a few specialty shows around the country, which showcase the best of the best in this breed. You can learn more about this organization at www.CKCSC.org. In Illinois, we have started an AKC Cavalier Club called the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Greater Chicago. Their website is www.ckcsc-greaterchicago.org. There is also a wonderful book about Cavaliers written by Barbara Garnett Smith, which we highly recommend.
